The basic education consists largely of the two educational programs programvaruteknik (software engineering) and informatics with a focus on systems development (informatik med inriktning systemutveckling), as well as a selection of standalone courses in informatics, computer engineering, and computer science.

Our research is mainly conducted in the recently started research group Software Engineering and Education (SEE), which develops methods and tools for software/system development and learning within the field. The knowledge we produce leads to more efficient work, but also a more equal and sustainable work environments for developers. Our research group contains a mix of researchers with a technical background (computer science/engineering) and a more social science background (informatics).

The intended lecturer will, among other things, actively participate in teaching activities which includes planning and implementing education in several courses. The lecturer will also be part of the SEE research group and is expected to actively contribute to the group's development by conducting research within its framework, seeking funds in competition, as well as supervising students and possibly also PhD students. In the long run, it is expected that the lecturer takes greater responsibility and contributes both strategically and administratively to the organization through, for example, program responsibility, examination responsibility for bachelor's theses, or other important roles within the department. Some commission activities may also occur. The lecturer is also expected to take an active role in the development of the subject.
