The department conducts research and education in the subjects: business administration, law, economics, statistics, geography and tourism studies.

The geography unit at the Department of Economics, Geography, Law and Tourism consists of an active research community, members of which engage in international and cross-disciplinary research collaborations while also teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The overarching research focus rests within the disciplinary specialization of human geography and includes studies on areas related to tourism geographies, labour geography, urban and regional development.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for a post-doc, applicants must have completed their PhD no more than three years prior to the end of the application period. In certain cases, applicants who completed their PhD earlier may be considered. The position is tied to the research project Collaborative and sharing workspaces: policies for youth in EEA peripheral regions (Cowork4YOUTH), funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. The project aims to increase knowledge on the impact of existing policies while offering further policy suggestions to enhance youth employment opportunities in less developed EEA regions (for further information, see https://issuu.com/cowork4youth/docs/cowork4youth_presentation.pptx).

Work description:
The post-doc is expected to develop and conduct their own sub-research in alignment with the Cowork4YOUTH project. Additional tasks include co-writing reports and papers, as well as contributing to the formulation of policy recommendations. Teaching and/or other departmental duties are included in the position. These will not exceed the equivalent of 20% of full-time hours.  

Assessment criteria:

- Demonstrated theoretical and methodological expertise in the field of labour geographies/labour studies or equivalent;
- A high level of competence in English (oral and written);
- Knowledge of Swedish will be regarded favourably

Employment: Two-year, full-time post doc. The start date for this position is 1 March 2022 or upon mutual agreement with Mid Sweden University.
