The Department of Information Systems and Techonology is situated at Campus Sundsvall. Its activities include research in the field of Computer and System science, mainly in the fields of the subjects Computer engineering and Industrial organization and economy.

Job description
The aim for this position is that it should comprise research and teaching to approximately the same extent. The research will be conducted in the research group Communication Systems and Networking, which is a Scandinavian leading group in the area of wireless communication for industrial applications, lead by Prof. Mikael Gidlund and Prof. Tingting Zhang. The candidate will actively collaborate with other researchers within the research group, but also with our external collaborators in academia and industry. The research duties includes theoretical analysis, algorithm design and implementation via software based simulations, and documentation in the form of technical papers and reports. You are also expected to contribute to applications for research funding from external research financiers. You will supervise PhD students and teach on courses on various levels.

Requirements and assessment
For this position, it is required to have a PhD in Computer Engineering/Science, Signal Processing, Wireless Communications or a closely related subject. We are looking for candidates with experience and knowledge on: machine learning, artificial intelligence, radio resource management, spectrum management, and communication protocols. The applicant should have an outstanding research record documented by publications in high-ranked journal. We are looking for strongly motivated and responsible candidates, who are able to work independently and cooperate. Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills are a requirement. Furthermore, the eligibility requirements and criteria described in Mid Sweden University Appointments Procedure and established Qualifications Criteria Assistant Senior Lecturer NMT Faculty.

Good command of English orally and in writing is required for both presentation and publishing of research results and for teaching. Knowledge in Swedish is a merit. Experience from teaching and supervision as well as documented pedagogic studies are considered as merits and the same goes for a post-doctoral or equivalent stay at an institution other than the one where the PhD was awarded.

Procedure: The recruitment process follows the regulations of the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, and in accordance with the appointment rules of Mid Sweden University.

Terms of employment: Full time during 4 years. Expected starting date is 2020-10-01 or according to agreement.
