Mittuniversitetet, Deparment of Computer and Electrical Engineering

At the department, education is conducted in the subjects of computer engineering, electronics, electrical engineering and sound production. The research at the department takes place at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and deals with sensor-based systems and services for use within the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

Job description
The postdoctoral researcher will work within the project TRUST, a collaborative initiative between Mid Sweden University and the University of Vaasa, Finland. This project focuses on advancing security in wireless networks through innovative solutions in blockchain-based trust mechanisms and AI-driven threat detection. The responsibilities include conducting research and developing security solutions for future wireless networks, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing protection mechanisms against threats in 5G/6G environments. The postdoctoral researcher will employ advanced methods to analyze, identify, and mitigate security flaws by implementing cryptographic protocols, using Software-Defined Radio (SDR) for security testing, and developing AI-based intrusion detection and Explainable AI (XAI) solutions for network security. The research will also focus on designing blockchain-based mechanisms for secure data exchange in wireless systems. The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team, participate in research projects, and publish results in international journals and conferences. Collaboration with industry partners and research institutes is an important part of the work, and teaching opportunities may be available depending on the scope of the project.
