Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering

At the department, education is conducted in the subjects of computer engineering, electronics, electrical engineering and sound production. The research at the department takes place at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and deals with sensor-based systems and services for use within the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

Job description

We offer a postdoctoral position in applied machine learning for industrial applications. The position can have a focus on one of the following areas deep learning in image analysis, deep learning of process data, as well as implementation of machine learning on embedded systems. The research is carried out in close collaboration with national and international partners in both industry and academia. The position may also include implementation aspects of machine learning models on embedded systems. The work will include experimental and theoretical in nature and include data collection, development and verification of models, and generalization of solutions.  


Requirement

To be eligible for a postdoctoral appointment, your qualifications must match the requirements described in Mid Sweden University’s employment procedures.  

To qualify for employment as a postdoctoral fellow, you must hold a doctorate or an equivalent foreign degree in a relevant research field. Your degree must not be older than 3 years from the end of the application period: But, for example, sick leave and/or parental leave can be deducted from the three-year period.

For this position, you are required to have a PhD in electronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field and have previous academic experience in machine learning.

Active participation and collaboration within the research group is necessary. It is therefore important that you are a responsible person with a holistic view, that you can communicate freely both orally and in writing in English and that you are structured in your way of working.

That you can independently plan and carry out research in the field of the position and that you are responsible and open to learning new things. It is also important that you function in the group, open to collaboration with external parties and can contribute your knowledge to others.

Terms of employment

This is a full-time position (100%) for 2 years from 01-10-2024 or as agreed.
