Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering

At the department, education is conducted in the subjects of computer engineering, electronics, electrical engineering and sound production. The research at the department takes place at the research center Sensible Things that Communicate (www.miun.se/stc) and deals with sensor-based systems and services for use within the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

Description

We offer a postdoctoral position in applied IoT for industrial and societal applications. The position combines hardware and software aspects and focuses on research in connection with system demonstrators and field studies. The research will ideally combine different aspects of IoT systems, including wireless communication, measurement and sensing technologies, power supply, as well as data analysis. The work is carried out in close collaboration with national and international partners in both industry and academia and will include a large amount of experimental research with connections to practical use cases.


Requirements and assessment

To be eligible for a post-doctoral appointment, your qualifications must match the requirements described in Mid Sweden University’s employment procedures.  

To qualify for employment as a postdoctoral fellow, you must hold a doctorate or an equivalent foreign degree in a relevant research field. Your degree must not be older than 3 years from the end of the application period. If there are special grounds a person who completed their doctorate earlier may be considered (Mid Sweden University’s employment procedures).

For this position, you are required to have a PhD in electronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field and have previous academic experience in IoT, embedded systems, or sensor systems. You have experience in developing these types of systems on both hardware and software level.

Active participation and collaboration within the research group is necessary. It is therefore important that you are a responsible person with a holistic view, that you can communicate freely both orally and in writing in English and that you are structured in your way of working.

Processing of the appointment will be in accordance with Mid Sweden University’s Employment Procedures.

 

Terms of employment

Temporary employment, 24 months, Full-time 100%, access according to agreement.

Terms and conditions of employment are set out in the Fixed-term employment contract for post-doctoral appointments.
