Job description
As a senior lecturer at Mid University you are expected to contribute to teaching at basic as well as advanced level. You are also expected to be an active member of the mathematics collegiate and to contribute productively to the development of the mathematical subject. The successful candidate will further contribute to the mathematical research environment of the department through conducting subject relevant research and by applying for external research funding.

Requirement
To be eligible for employment as a senior lecturer, your qualifications must match the set of requirements described in Mid Sweden University’s employment regulations and the requirements described in the Faculty's instructions for the appointment of senior lecturers.

The position requires experience in research within the field of mathematical analysis. It is a further advantage if the main research field is in complex geometry, singularity theory or mathematical physics.

Assessment Criteria
As much attention is given to evaluating educational aptitude as to academic aptitude.

The successful candidate will be able to lead collegiate activities and is expected to function well in our team of mathematicians. Experience of active international collaborations is an advantage, and it is a further advantage if a candidate has previously applied and been successful at obtaining competitive research funding.

 Personal Qualities
We want you to be goal and result oriented, to have good cooperative skills, but also be able to work independently and take own initiatives. To work towards a stronger environment for the mathematical subject and the research groups, it is necessary that you make strategical choices for the benefit of both your own development and that of the subject.

 Other Assessment Criteria
Good skills in spoken as well as written English are essential, and familiarity with the Swedish language is desirable. It is also an advantage to have experience of distance teaching.

Employment process
Processing of the appointment will comply with the provisions in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance, and will be carried out in accordance with Mid Sweden University’s Employment Procedures.

Terms of employment
Permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed.
