The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).
Main activities and responsibilities:
Today, major interest in technologies based on Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. The area of machine learning influences research in measurement systems as a complementary research method where machine learning is the enabling technology behind soft sensors. In measurement systems based on soft sensors, measurements of surrounding parameters and predictive machine learning models are used to determine a previously unknown parameter.
As a researcher in this area, you will be part of a strategic development of the electronics subject at Mid Sweden University. Through your experience and knowledge in the area, your role will therefore be to collaborate with other staff in the subject and demonstrate opportunities to include machine learning and soft sensors in new research projects and educations
Qualifications:
Eligible to be employed as a researcher in this research field is the person who has completed a doctoral degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering in the field of "Soft Sensors" or Machine Learning Measurement Systems. The applicant must have experience of conducting research in international contexts. Great emphasis is placed on the applicant's previous merits and experiences as well as the applicant's personal qualities and ability to collaborate within an international research group. In addition to the above, the applicant must have a good ability to communicate orally / in writing in English..
Type of employment and start date: 10% permanent position. Start date according to agreement.
