The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).
Position description: The STC research centre announces a Post-doctor position in Sound source localization systems, working on AI supported novel sensor arrays. The research project gives you the opportunity to work together in a research group with international collaborations. Challenges that the position can include machine learning optimization of localization models and adaptations to embedded systems used for stand-alone sound source localization systems. In your position, you will work to develop characterization models and optimize and characterize prototype systems for the application.
Required qualifications and selection criteria
To qualify for an employment as a Post-doctor, the applicant must hold a PhD degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a PhD. The PhD degree must have been obtained no more than five years prior to the application due date, although allowance will be will be made for periods of sick leave or parental leave.
For this position, it is required to have a PhD in electronics, electrical engineering or computer science with a specialization in analysis or enhancement of recorded sound with microphone arrays. For this position, it is required to have a PhD in electronics, electrical engineering or computer science with a specialization in machine learning and/or sound localization. Skills in sound sensor networks, signal processing, machine learning, embedded systems and electronic system design are meriting.
Employment and start date: Full time employment, 16 months. According to agreement.
