Duties
An appointment as senior lecturer involves education at first and second cycle level.The work duties include directing, planning and developing courses, independently and together with others.The work includes teaching, examination and administration.A senior lecturer is also expected to participate in the development of the department’s pedagogical and scholarly activities, participate in research activities and ensure teaching is linked to research.

Qualifications
A person is qualified for appointment as a senior lecturer if he or she has completed a doctorate in psychology and has demonstrated teaching skills (HEO Chapter 4 § 4).

To qualify for appointment as senior lecturer, the person must also fulfil the requirements stated in Mid Sweden University’s appointments procedure miun.se/anstallningsordning) and the Faculty’s rules and instructions and be able to perform administrative and pedagogical work tasks.

Evaluation criteria
As much attention shall be given to the assessment of teaching skills as to the assessment of academic skills.Special weight will be given to teaching experience and applicants will also be assessed on the basis of their professional experience within the subject area.

Applicants who have taken a course in teaching and learning in higher education or acquired the equivalent knowledge in some other way shall be regarded as have a useful additional qualification.

Procedure
The preparation of the appointment follows the procedure outlined in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and continues in accordance with the appointments procedure that applies at Mid Sweden University.

Appointment: Full-time and open-ended. A trial period of employment may be used.

Place of work: Östersund

Starting date: As agreed.

Salary: Salaries are set individually.
