The Department is located at Campus Östersund. We conduct research and education within Social Work and the main fields of Psychology, such as cognitive psychology, social psychology, psychology of learning, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology.

Duties: The position as senior lecturer encompasses education at the first- and second-cycle level, primarily on the Psychology Programme and mainly within clinical psychology. The duties include coordinating, planning and developing courses, independently and together with others. The work includes teaching, examination and administration. You are also expected to participate in the department’s pedagogical and scientific development work, as well as in the work with promoting research issues and linking research to teaching.

Qualification: To be qualified for appointment as a senior lecturer, the candidate must have a PhD in Psychology and must have demonstrated teaching expertise (Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, Section 4).

The candidate must also be qualified in accordance with the requirements described in Mid Sweden University’s appointments procedure (miun.se/anstallnings Ordinance) as well as the faculty’s rules and instructions, and must be able to perform administrative and pedagogical duties. The duties require good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and in writing.

Assessment criteria: Applicants are assessed on the basis of teaching expertise and professional experience within the subject area. Great emphasis will be placed on teaching expertise and experience within basic psychological processes, as well as the clinical applications of these and clinical skills.

It is a useful qualification if the applicant is a licensed psychologist and has clinical professional experience as a psychologist, previous teaching experience at an academic level in the form of course responsibility, lecturing and examination, and has also worked with digital learning platforms.

Procedure: The assessment, selection and employment process will follow the principles laid down in Chapter 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance and proceed in accordance with Mid Sweden University’s appointments procedure.
