Mittuniversitetet, Institutionen för elektronikkonstruktion

The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).

Duties: The STC Research Centre (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc) is looking for an Assistant Senior Lecturer in Power Electronics who will work with transducers and other related applications.

Research will be carried out in cooperation with partner companies who integrate research results in customer applications.

Almost 80 researchers in electronics and related areas work at STC. You will work in close cooperation with other researchers in the group and the university.

The position gives you the opportunity to work with modern semiconductor devices and transformers in the design of new power electronics and solve many application-specific challenges. You will be presented with challenges that can be oriented towards optimisation of power density, regulating of converters and reduction of interference from power electronics, as well as carrying out research in the development, optimisation and characterisation of different types of transducers.

Requirements and assessment criteria: To be qualified for the position you must hold a PhD in power electronics, which must have been obtained no more than five years before the application deadline (for exemptions see Swedish Higher Education Ordinance, 4 chapter 4 a §). In addition, the requirements and assessment criteria described in Mid Sweden University’s employment procedures and the established Qualifications criteria for employment as assistant senior lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Media are applicable

You should have practical experience in the design and characterisation of transformers, documented competence in high-frequency magnetic components and good theoretical knowledge in loss calculation in power semiconductors and magnetic components.

Good knowledge in control and gate driving, experience of design, modelling and optimisation of magnetic components is a merit, as well as experience in the optimisation of a converter based on theoretical calculations.

We are looking for an assistant senior lecturer who is proactive and can solve engineering and research challenges in power electronics and related areas.

Since cooperation is a natural part of your work, you must have good interpersonal skills and the unhindered ability to communicate orally and in writing in English. International experience from postdoc assignments is also a merit.

Procedure: The employment process follows the regulations of the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, and the appointment rules of Mid Sweden University.
