Mittuniversitetet, The Department of Electronics Design

The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).

Duties:
The position covers teaching in the subject of Electrical Engineering/Electronics with a focus on embedded systems and measurement systems. The position also contains education administration, course responsibility and development work.

The opportunity for skills development exists under the applicable collective agreement and local guidelines.

The department conducts extensive research in the field of embedded systems and metrology. The opportunity for recognition of research in the area can be given within the framework of the employment. 

Eligibility and assessment criteria:
Eligibility for the position of lecturer at Mid Sweden University requires an academic degree of at least 180 credits, of which at least 90 credits are in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/Data Technology or equivalent, completed higher education pedagogical training and proven pedagogical skills. In addition, the eligibility conditions and assessment criteria described in Mid Sweden University’s employment procedures are applicable. 

To work as a lecturer you should have a genuine interest in teaching and communicating the knowledge and experience that you possess in the area.

You must have previous experience of teaching in embedded systems, as well as experience in the design and application of embedded systems which includes both software and hardware. 

Activities at the department are conducted in an international environment, which is why good skills in both written and oral English is a requirement. Knowledge of Swedish is desirable. 

Work in teacher teams is common, which is why we attach great importance to interpersonal skills. Flexibility, initiative and responsibility are also characteristics that we consider important. 

Procedure: The recruitment process follows the regulations of the Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4, and the appointment rules of Mid Sweden University.
