The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).

Duties:
The position covers research and teaching in the area of embedded systems and measurement systems, education administration, course responsibility and development work. In addition to your own research work, your position will also include supervision of the research group’s postgraduate students and actively working on applications for external research funding. The opportunity for skills development exists under the applicable collective agreement and local guidelines.

Eligibility and assessment criteria:
Eligibility for the position requires a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence in electronics/electrical engineering or a related subject area, higher education pedagogical training or equivalent knowledge and proven pedagogical skills. In addition, the eligibility conditions and assessment criteria described in Qualifications criteria for employment as senior lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Technology and Media are applicable.

Thesis area and/or later research should have a focus on design and optimisation of embedded systems including both hardware and software.

Experience of design and application of embedded systems for control and metrology applications is a requirement.

Research merits are assessed based on the scope and quality of published articles and on experience of seeking external research funding and project leadership.

Activities at the department are conducted in an international environment, which is why good skills in both written and oral English is a requirement. The ability to be able to communicate in Swedish is desirable.

Previous experience of teaching in embedded systems is a requirement. Experience of programme responsibility is a merit.

Procedure: The employment process follows the principles laid out in Chapter 4 of the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance and proceeds in accordance with employment procedures applicable to Mid Sweden University.
