The Department of Information Systems and Techonology is situated at Campus Sundsvall. Its activities include research in the field of Computer and System science, mainly in the fields of the subjects Computer engineering and Industrial organization and economy.

Duties:
The position covers the conducting of theoretical and experimental research in the field of Image Analysis (Computer Science) based on multimodal and multidimensional data. The work involves theoretical analysis, practical experiments, algorithm design and implementation in software, as well as documentation in the form of scientific articles and reports. The applicant will collaborate with researchers and industrial partners in the project.

This research is a part of Mid Sweden University’s profiled research in industrial IT and digital services and will be carried out in collaboration with other researchers in the Realistic 3D research group, which is part of STC Research Centre. The postdoctoral fellow will have access to the research group’s laboratory, which includes multi-cameras and monitors. See www.miun.se/realistic3d

Eligibility and assessment criteria or Qualifications:
For eligibility to apply a doctoral degree or a foreign degree judged to be the equivalent of a doctoral degree is required. The doctoral degree should have been acquired no more than three years before the expiry of the application period; periods such as sick leave or parental leave are deducted from the three-year period. The requirement for this employment is a doctoral degree in Image Analysis, Computer Vision, Multi-View Geometry, Image Processing, or a closely related subject, with high-quality experience and publications in the area. Special emphasis will be given to a strong mathematical background and documented experience of research in the area. In addition to good subject knowledge, great importance is placed on creative thinking, motivation, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as personal suitability for research. The ability to use programmes such as Matlab or C++ is a requirement.

Employment and starting date:
1 year full-time with the possibility of 1 year extension, start subject to agreement. Teaching and formulation of research applications may be included to a level not exceeding 20%. Starting date after agreement.
