The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).

The research center STC (Sensible Things that Communicate www.miun.se/stc) looks for post-doc in the SMART project – Smart systems and services. The research will be conducted in collaboration with industrial partners in a larger project that integrates the technology challenges within the fields of smart systems and services in the application areas of industrial sensors.

The research will be conducted in the research group Autonomous Sensor Systems. The candidate will actively collaborate with other researchers within SMART but also with other researchers at the department.

Duties: The research project gives you the opportunity to work together in a larger research group that addresses challenges within "energy harvesting" for various applications of sensor systems. There are two topics open for the position. The first is to develop vibration energy harvesting devices for industrial applications. This work involve physical modelling and experimental work. The second is to investigate modelling methods for vibration energy harvesting systems (that includes harvesting and storage devices, and power management circuits) where the goal is to develop a methodology supporting the design process of energy harvesting systems. The postdoc position involves modelling and experimental work such as prototype development and characterization in lab and industrial environments.

Required qualifications and selection criteria: To qualify for an employment as a post-doctor, the applicant must hold a PhD degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a PhD, and this degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application due date; however, for example, periods of sick leave or parental leave can be deducted from the three-year period.
