The Department of Electronics Design is situated at Campus Sundsvall. In addition to its research activities, it offers courses and programmes in the subjects Electronics, Electrical engineering and Sound production. The research of the department is conducted at the research centre STC (Sensible Things that Communicate, www.miun.se/stc).
The research center STC (Sensible Things that Communicate www.miun.se/stc) announces open positions for PhD students in the SMART project – Smart systems and services. The research will be made in collaboration with industrial partners to integrate the technology challenges with the IoT challenges in the application areas of smart cities and smart industry.
Position description: The position focus on embedded computing architectures for sensor systems. Emphasis will be on developing computer architectures, computing strategies and evaluate them by combining challenges such as low power consumption, energy communications, cost, and complexity.
Required qualifications and selection criteria: To qualify for an employment as a post-doctor, the applicant must hold a PhD degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a PhD and the PhD degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application due date; however, for example, periods of sick leave or parental leave can be deducted from the three-year period. For this position, it is required to have a PhD in electronics, electrical engineering or computer science with a specialization in embedded systems, electronic system design, sensor networks and cyber-physical systems.
Employment: One year full-time employment, possible extension for another year.
